Dil Chahta Hai, Kabhi Na Beete Chamkile Din

Two weeks have passed since my college or Institute as they like to call it started. I feel as if the college has just begun yesterday. I cannot and don’t want to forget the first day of the college. How seniors irritated us juniors, how teachers including our dean of academics joined them, our frustration, anger and at the last, our surprised expressions and joyous face when we came to know they were playing Bakra with us. A perfect welcome by seniors. It’s our college’s tradition to ‘billy-goatise’ juniors on their first day of college. It is one of the memorable days of my life. I would suggest MBA aspirants to take admission into our institute named N L Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research (NLDIMSR) just to experience this particular day. You may leave the college after that if you want to join other B school. :D
Talking about college, there are strict standards we students are supposed to maintain. We cannot means we are not allowed to use cellphones inside college campus. We are not allowed to wear T shirts. What the heck! We should complete assignments even if there are no marks for doing the same and do homework. Second last one; this is tacit rule; we should behave like Post graduate students or like managers. What the heck! The college treats us as if we are still in school and at the same time, expect us to behave like PG students. Last but the most important, we should follow all the rules.
Let me write something about my class. I am in C division. Class strength is sixty. All students are amicable though some of them hesitate to open up. All are helpful except the one girl who didn’t give me the birthday list of whole class. Hehe, just kidding. I really enjoy the lectures because of them. We all have fun and laughter together. It makes me nervous because following thought pops up in my mind whenever I feel that I am feeling great at this place,
This is the last phase of my student life :-((
and I have only one year. We won’t have lectures together in the second year as different people will choose different things.
I talked about my college. I talked about my classroom which is a part of the college. Now I write something about girls of my class as they are an integral part of C. Girls...my favourite subject as you in particular the members of Ekapekshaek may think of me :P Well girls’ group is very active. Read: hyperactive. Lolz They are always doing something. Except some of them. Some of the girls always take initiative. Last week we went to see a movie called Singh is Kinng. I don’t think any class in any college has gone to see a movie just after one week of college beginning. Today only the girls have decided that whole class would wear white, saffron or green on the independence day. They didn’t forget to add ‘if possible’ so that it wouldn’t 'look' compulsory. Smart girls!! Sounds paradoxical? I can’t help it. I don’t talk to them much. You know I don’t open up easily to unfamiliar people. It takes some time for me. Many of the boys are idle and are interested in their respective groups. At least they seem to be. I seem one of them though I am not. The girls have given class the ambiance of family. Please don’t misunderstand. :P Few of them look pretty ;-) I am such a hopeless boy. Don’t ask me who I like. Time has flown very fast since last two weeks. It’ll pass faster in upcoming days. Day by day I lose it more and gain more happy memories at the cost of time. :) or :-( ? Which smiley do I use?
Phew!! I am tired!! How shall I end this post? Okay. That’s it. Friends, please comment on this post as this is the longest post posted on my blog so far and I have posted after long time. :-) Good night. Happy Independence Day.

Sandeep Khare

Just now I listened to Sandeep Khare’s album ‘Aayushyavar Bolu Kahi’. As soon as I completed listening to it I started writing this. It’s easier to write if I write before its effect goes off. The lyricist is talented Sandeep Khare who is also the music director of the album. There are eight songs in this album. Some of them have been sung by Salil Kulkarni. Some of them have been sung by Sandeep Khare and remaining songs have been sung by both. I love six songs out of eight. Songs reflect Sandeep’s potential as a music director. Well, he is no doubt a great Marathi poet in recent times. You would agree with me if you’ve listened to his songs before. I cannot decide which song is the best. I like five songs very much. Sixth one ‘Mi Morcha Nela Nahi’ is Okay. It’s not bad. It’s quite different from the other five. Sandeep has got very sweet voice. Salil, a music director and a singer has worked for Marathi films like Uttarayan and his work has been acclaimed. The overall album is worth listening to. I would insist you to buy an audio cassette or a CD. It’s worth having. (If you love Marathi songs.) I am not talking anything about the songs which I didn’t like. They are ‘two’ bad. :) I didn’t rather I couldn’t listen fully to those two songs. Here is a song from the album…

New Name

You must have noticed this; I have changed my blog’s name again. From the day I made this blog, I struggled with naming it. I considered Sid’s advice and named my blog ‘Life in Words.’ It was a good suggestion but I wasn’t satisfied with it. It sounded banal to me and it wasn’t suitable for my posts. Then I came across this phrase 'C’est La Vie'. It means ‘That’s Life’. I liked it but then again, I found it unsuitable for my posts. I was continuously thinking about new name. I wasn’t interested in copying the same. It should be something of my own. At last I have founded it. For me it can’t be better and more suitable than this name. Suggestions are always welcome.

Dilemma

All you people reading this post; I want to tell you something. Of course that's why I blog; to tell you what I think. It's difficult to tell you this. I am struggling with myself. I know you'll not like this if you read, but I should not hide the truth from you. If you are a reader of this blog then you have every right to know what I want to tell you through this post. It is said that one should not tell unlikable truth. Now I am in dilemma. What should I choose between a responsibility and a principle? If I don’t tell you, I’ll repent. If I tell you, maybe you’ll get angry at me and I’ll repent in this case too. It’s more difficult to decide whether to tell you or not than telling you itself. Okay. Let me concentrate. I am done. I have decided that I’ll open my mind and tell you. No matter how you react to this. After all, it’s better to regret what you have done than regretting what you haven’t. Get ready. I want to tell you that you are wasting your precious time in reading this useless, pointless post. If you have nothing else to do then only read this post. :D

Valentine's Day

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. People, all over the world, take this opportunity(?) to express or remind their feelings towards their dear ones. But why only 14th February? I know this day is celebrated in memory of some Saint Valentine and blah blah blah but does one have only one day to do so? If I love my father, or my mother or anyone, I don't need to wait for 14th February to tell him/her. I would do it as soon as I get chance and I feel like. If one wants to gift anything to anybody, why does one wait for 14th February? One can do so anytime, and one's emotions don't fade even if one doesn't do so on the Valentine's Day. Does one love others only on Valentine's Day?Why do we follow the western tradition so blindly? I am not against celebrating Valentine's Day(If you think that I am a Shivsainik) but one should think why one is doing the thing before doing.
Another thing I hate is gifting a greeting card to somebody. A greeting card is useful for just one day. It's crap after the day or the occasion has passed. I have never gifted a greeting card to anybody. Give anything else. If you cannot gift anything else, simply just wish the person. Nobody desires to be flooded with gifts but to be flooded with good wishes of loved ones.
Your views are welcome.

Zeno's Philosophy.

God is not separate from the world; He is the soul of the world, and each of us contains a part of the Divine Fire. All things are parts of one single system, which is called Nature; the individual life is good when it is in harmony with Nature. In one sense, every life is in harmony with Nature, since it is such as Nature’s laws have caused it to be; but in another sense a human life is only in harmony with Nature when the individual will is directed to ends which are among those of Nature. Virtue consists in a will which is in agreement with Nature. The wicked, though perforce they obey God’s law, do so involuntarily; in the simile of Cleanthes, they are like a dog tied to a cart, and compelled to go wherever it goes. In the life of an individual man, virtue is the sole good; such things as health, happiness, possessions, are of no account. Since virtue resides in the will, everything really good or bad in a man’s life depends only upon himself. He may be poor, but what of it? He can still be virtuous. He may be sentenced to death, but he can die nobly, like Socrates. Other men have power only over externals; virtue, which alone is truly good, rests entirely with the individual. Therefore every man has perfect freedom, provided he emancipates himself from mundane desires. (Zeno of Citium, 300 - 260 B.C.)
